About the Speaker:
Ellen Platt is the founder and owner of The Option Group, LLC, a care management and healthcare advocacy firm dedicated to helping families successfully navigate the complexities of aging, disability, and long-term care. The Option Group provides comprehensive assessments, personalized care planning, advocacy, care coordination, and ongoing care management to promote safety, independence, and quality of life for clients throughout Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., and Virginia.
With more than 36 years of experience, Ellen specializes in supporting older adults, individuals with chronic illnesses, catastrophic injuries, dementia, disabilities, and children with special needs. She works closely with families, caregivers, guardians, and professional advisors to develop practical solutions that evolve as a client's needs change, helping families avoid crises while maximizing independence and well-being.
Ellen is a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), Certified Aging Life Care Manager (CMC/ALCA), and Certified Case Manager (CCM). She is an active member of numerous professional organizations, including the Aging Life Care Association, Financial Planning Association of Maryland, and the Baltimore Estate Planning Council. A frequent collaborator with attorneys, financial advisors, and healthcare professionals, Ellen is committed to providing compassionate guidance and expert care navigation for vulnerable individuals and their families.
