DESCRIPTION:\nEstate of Mind:  An insider’s guide to understanding & inheriting art and antiques in today’s global auction market featuring Samira Farmer, Doyle Auctioneers\n \nReception begins at 5:00 p.m. with Ms. Farmer's presentation beginning at about 6:00 p.m.\n \nSamira Farmer joined Doyle, Auctioneers & Appraisers in 2005 as the Business Manager for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Office in Washington, DC where she aids in business development, valuations & appraisals, and divestment strategy for private clients, fiduciaries, and institutions through-out the Mid-Atlantic region.\n \nSamira has nearly twenty years of experience working in both the gallery and auction markets including gallery sales in Hawaii; managing the Decorative Arts Department for C. G. Sloan’s Miami Auctions; assisting collectors in L.A. as a research associate for an appraisal firm; and as the Registrar for a long-established antique dealer on bustling Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.\n \nPrior to joining Doyle, Samira received her M.A. from Parson’s School of Design/ Smithsonian in the History of Decorative Arts, specializing in 20th Century Furniture and Industrial Design.  As a native Washingtonian, Samira is active in the arts community and is proud to lend support to many local arts organizations including Hillwood Museum & Gardens and the Washington Winter Antiques Show.\n \n \n
